For friends, not benefits ✈️
CrewMate exists because crew life is unique — the irregular schedules, the layovers in unfamiliar cities, the bonds you form at 35,000 feet. These guidelines help us maintain a community where every crew member feels safe, respected, and welcome. Think of it like the galley: keep it clean, be kind, and look out for each other.
1. Be Respectful
Every crew member on this app is a real person with a real life. Treat others the way you'd want to be treated on a layover with a new crew. Be kind, be patient, and remember that tone can be hard to read in text.
2. Keep It Crew-Appropriate
CrewMate is a professional social space — not a dating app. Our tagline is "for friends, not benefits" and we mean it. Use CrewMate to find dinner companions, explore cities, share recommendations, and build genuine friendships.
✅ Do
- Create plans for group dinners, sightseeing, gym sessions
- Share honest spot reviews to help fellow crew
- Connect with crew for friendship and community
- Be welcoming to crew from all airlines
- Report issues through the feedback button
❌ Don't
- Send unsolicited romantic or sexual messages
- Use CrewMate as a dating or hookup app
- Harass anyone who declines an invitation
- Post inappropriate or explicit content
- Share other crew members' info outside the app
3. Protect Privacy
What happens on CrewMate stays on CrewMate. Do not:
- Screenshot and share other crew members' profiles, messages, or locations outside the app.
- Share hotel names, room numbers, or specific location details of other crew members.
- Stalk, follow, or show up uninvited to another crew member's location.
- Share another crew member's personal information (full name, employee ID, schedule, etc.) without their consent.
4. Be Honest
- Real identity: Use your real first name and actual airline. Don't impersonate other crew members.
- Honest reviews: Share genuine experiences. Don't post fake reviews to boost or harm a venue.
- Accurate layovers: Only check into cities where you actually are or will be. Don't fake layovers.
5. Zero Tolerance
The following will result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban:
- Harassment or bullying — Repeated unwanted contact, threats, intimidation, or targeted negativity toward any crew member.
- Discrimination — Hate speech, slurs, or discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, airline, position, or any other characteristic.
- Non-crew access — Sharing your account with non-crew members or helping non-crew access the app.
- Dangerous behavior — Promoting illegal activity, substance abuse, or anything that endangers crew safety.
- Spam or commercial use — Using CrewMate to advertise products, services, MLM schemes, or anything commercial.
6. Meet-Up Safety
CrewMate helps you find crew to hang out with on layovers. When meeting someone in person for the first time:
- Meet in public places (restaurants, cafes, tourist spots).
- Let someone know where you're going (a friend, your crew, etc.).
- Trust your instincts — if something feels off, leave.
- You are never obligated to meet anyone. "No thanks" is always okay.
7. Reporting
If someone violates these guidelines or makes you uncomfortable:
- Use the Report a Problem option in the app's menu.
- Email us directly at hello@crewmateapp.dev.
- All reports are reviewed by our team and kept confidential.
- We take every report seriously and will act quickly to protect our community.
8. Enforcement
Violations of these guidelines may result in:
- A warning from our moderation team.
- Temporary suspension of your account.
- Permanent ban from CrewMate.
The severity of the action depends on the nature and frequency of the violation. We reserve the right to make these decisions at our discretion.
9. Help Us Build This
CrewMate is built by crew, for crew. These guidelines will evolve as our community grows. If you have suggestions for making CrewMate safer or more welcoming, we genuinely want to hear them. Use the feedback button or email us anytime.
Blue skies! ✈️
